With a slight change to my home-office set up I find myself putting on background music more often, and I’m always looking for ways to keep up with new music and artists.

8/18: I was pleasantly surprised to see an old favorite of mine, Tanya Donnelly (Throwing Muses, Breeders, Belly) has a new album out with a local group Parkington Sisters (so local there is an article on WickedLocal with them). Amped has a good write-up on the collaboration and record. (side-note In 2018 I went to Boston Calling in part because it was an opportunity to see Belly live. Star / King are always good listens)

Youtube browsing has led me to Domi, who really woke up my ear to modern keyboard playing. Related to that rabbit-hole I enjoyed this Louis Cole performance (yay for horn sections!), and several Domi & JD Beck performances (channel). Any of the Snarky Puppy of course (I admittedly was late to them).

Puddles has a new release out, a lovely cover of Tom Waits’ San Diego Serenade. For those not familiar to PPP, revisit my first taste in his cover of Royals with Postmodern Jukebox.
